The annual Christmas
tree lighting

Big smiles, rosy cheeks, and a fantastic turnout were on the menu for the annual Christmas tree lighting in Nuuk.

As tradition dictates on the first Sunday of Advent, Santa Claus and Mrs. Santa toured the entire city to say hi to the city’s children (and adults!) and wish the citizens a merry christmas. Every year it is a welcomed event among locals.

The drive ended at Aqqaluk’s Square for music, playing and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Thousands of Nuummiut gathered around the tree and celebrated Christmas is here.

Thank you for a fantastic

 day, Nuuk.
